Eating Your Own Dog Food

The business practice of “dogfooding” (using one's own products or services to test, validate, and improve them) is not new, but the recent wave of fast-food CEOs recording tasting videos of their own menus for social media has brought this conversation into the spotlight in an interesting way. It reminds me of several conversations we’ve had with live events leaders on the Fandom Unpacked podcast about the value of experiencing the same processes your fans do, so you really know what’s working and what needs improvement.
I picked a clip from our Season 2, Episode 1 guest, Michal Lorenc, Clinical Assistant Professor of Sport Management at the University of Michigan, and Co-owner of AFC Ann Arbor, that I think eloquently speaks to the importance of eating your own dog food when it comes to live events.
