David Brooks on Public Speaking

Here's a great quote from David Brooks that I came across in a recent episode of The Prof G Pod. I agree with most of the advice here, though jokes can be tricky if you haven't matched them to your audience. The idea of filling your presentation with personal stories is one I've found to be bankable.
